The Operational Services organization at Schwab partners with teams across the firm to deliver on service promises to Schwab clients. We are responsible for best-in-class service, protecting and safeguarding the assets of the firm and our clients, all while increasing scalability and efficiency.

Within Operational Services, Transformation Solutions Platforms (TSP) is a cross-functional group that is helping to drive transformation across Operational Services and the broader firm. We use a variety of methodologies, tools and capabilities to drive large-scale change. We partner with teams across Schwab to deliver best-in-class experience, service, and processing solutions for our clients and advisors.

TSP powers Schwab’s Automated Communications Platform, which delivers personalized service and regulatory messages to clients. This automated system relies on close teamwork, knowledge of public communication regulations and compliance rules, and a general technical grasp of the different stakeholder platforms involved in creating, maintaining, and sending these communications.

As the Automated Communications Platform Manager, individuals will have responsibility for the orchestration capability in support of cross-enterprise transformative initiatives. This requires the ability to collaborate across disparate upstream and downstream teams and systems while ensuring timely delivery to meet complex cross-enterprise roadmap goals and objectives. Success requires ability to:

  • Continuously understanding, formalizing and communicating the requirements around solutions for business needs, prioritizing the platform backlog based on business value, managing risks by making good trade-off decisions, and communicating key milestones and deliverables.
  • Solve firm/user problems through new and/or evolved strategic enterprise capabilities, building and aligning technology partners and cross-firm business units, product and architecture teams on capability vision & strategy.
  • Establish strong partnerships across Product, Business Architecture, and Technology peers to shape platform capabilities and design solutions that represent end-to-end business needs.
  • Partner with the technology team leaders to execute on key components of platform evolution and agile development.

Main Functions:

  • Responsible for a team of Product Owners working through maintenance of a backlog of groomed user stories with acceptance criteria and clear value differentiation while supporting all Agile scrum ceremonies and making appropriate trade-off decisions to meet business delivery commitments while ensuring scalability and platform performance metrics are maintained or improved.
  • Accountable for successful platform roadmap implementation through Agile development and coordination with internal and external domains as well as strategic product partnerships to maintain a now/next/later view of the platform and required evolution.
  • Technical analysis: Strong analytical and technical orientation with attention to detail at the platform level while liaising with upstream and downstream domain partners to maintain and respond to broader workflow view.
  • Highly collaborative and flexible: drive outcomes with cross-firm teams and continuously prioritize and adjust solutions based on changing firm priorities, resources, and technological capabilities. Maintain a ‘One Schwab’ mindset.
  • Subject-matter Expertise (SME): possess general understanding of service and regulatory communications and technologies used to distribute them

To ensure that we fulfill our promise of "challenging the status quo," this role has specific qualifications that successful candidates should have.

Required Qualifications:

* Bachelors Degree

* 7 or more years of relevant work experience required including:

  • 5+ years of experience with operational legacy integrations in a large enterprise
  • 5+ years in product manager/owner role on Agile teams
  • 3+ years of leadership experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of experience with AI a plus (GitHub and Copilot)

In addition to the salary range, this role is eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
