Schwab is recruiting to hire a driven, results-oriented Test Automation Framework Engineer who shares our passion for technology, innovation, and excellence. This role will be a dynamic, cross-skills position including hands-on object-oriented development, design and implementation of enterprise test automation frameworks and tools. The ideal candidate excels in a dynamic, fast-moving, environment and is passionate about developing multi-faceted solutions to solve complex, time-critical problems.

You will be part of the EDE - Test Automation Services (TAS) team and will help design, develop, and support the enterprise test automation frameworks and tools. The candidate will work with a team of engineers whose main objective is to maintain our enterprise test automation frameworks, ensure on-time, quality delivery of new features and enhancements, influence onboarding and support of application development teams to the enterprise test automation frameworks and tools. 


What you’ll do:
· Build solutions responsible for quality delivery of software applications, products and
services across the enterprise.
· Develop test cases from requirements, stories, etc. then create scripts to automate the tests.
· Work collaboratively with all members of the Delivery and Test Teams utilizing agile
methodology.
· Work with automation engineers to design frameworks and automation solutions.
· Design and development of automation solutions for Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery process.
· Evolve automated test framework to achieve higher test throughput, increased accessibility and test execution flexibility.
· Develop new or the extension of existing Build and Test Automation tools, and frameworks as needed to provide a complete Continuous Integration environment.
· Participate in requirement reviews, application assessment, feasibility analysis to ensure full understanding of products in order to identify proper test framework, methodology, and tools.
· Participate in code/peer reviews with team members, developers and/or third party vendors.
· Participate in development of test data strategy and preparation of data.
· Work with UAT and QA teams and assist with creating test cases from requirements, stories.
· Evaluate use of test tools, drive adoption and seek opportunities to leverage test tools for greater organizational efficiency.
· Contribute to departmental metrics and governance standards.
· Participate actively on continuous improvement efforts within the technology organization.
· Partner with peers and management team to continuously improve testing methods, process, techniques and use of tools.

What you have


To ensure that we have fulfilled our promise of "challenging the status quo," this role has specific qualifications that successful candidates should have.

Required Qualifications

•    Solid background in application development – minimum 4-5 years of experience, and current working experience with Schwab systems and processes
o    Proficient building client/server-side applications utilizing Java, JavaScript, Python, C# .NET
o    Proficient using various Javascript and jQuery•    Strong understanding of relational and no-SQL database concepts – minimum 4-5 years of experience
o    Proficient in PostgreSQL, MySQL, DB2, Oracle, SQL Server
o    Proficient in MongoDB, Cassandra, and/or Aerospike 
•    Solid understanding of Unix based server admin (RedHat, CentOS, etc.) – minimum 4-5 years of experience
•    Strong understanding of services and microservices like REST, EJB and SOAP API – minimum 4-5 years of experience
•    Strong understanding of Desktop Web, Native Desktop (Java Swing), Mainframe development and engineering – minimum 4-5 years of experience
•    Strong understanding of Native Mobile (iOS and Android) and Mobile Web development and engineering – minimum 4-5 years of experience
•    Ability to work well under stress, self-prioritize tasks, and deliver on critical deadlines
•    Strong understanding of CI/CD – GitHub Actions, Test Executor, Jenkins, Bamboo, Test Harness and Build Management – Maven, Gradle – minimum 4-5 years of experience
•    Understanding of Agile software development methodologies, concepts, and procedures
o    Comfortable with tools including Jira, GitHub, or similar
•    Understanding of enterprise test automation framework design, development and engineering

Preferred Qualifications

•    Experience using GenAI tools – GitHub Copilot, Cursor, etc.
•    Knowledge of IaaS 
•    Knowledge of cloud concepts (cloud deployments, micro service infrastructure, cloud config, Pivotal Cloud Foundry, etc.)
•    BS/BA/MS in Computer Science or equivalent discipline

In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities
