Your opportunity

At Schwab, you’re empowered to make an impact on your career. Here, innovative thought meets creative problem solving, helping us “challenge the status quo” and transform the finance industry together.

The Marketing Technology Planning & Enablement (MTPE) organization is a centralized function focused on defining, orchestrating, and delivering a modern, scalable ecosystem of capabilities and solutions that enable marketers to continue to drive growth within an ever-changing digital landscape and business environment. In this role, you will lead and shape the center of excellence for Marketing User Experience & Design, which is responsible for designing scalable components, templates across digital marketing channels, including web and email, and for establishing design standards for marketing and education experiences for all audiences.

We are looking for a proven leader and design visionary who will advance a program of work, inspire and lead a team, and excel in cultivating cross-functional partnerships in a matrixed, relationship-driven operating model. We are embarking on a journey to advance how we engage clients in their channel of choice with dynamic, compelling experiences. The successful candidate will have a strong background in visual aesthetics, interaction design, and data-driven decision-making to align user experience with business growth.

This role is responsible for:

  • User Experience Design & Strategy Leadership: Serve as a design visionary and define the overarching user experience strategy across digital channels, ensuring it aligns with company brand, marketing, and business objectives.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, recruit, and mentor a team of UI/UX designers, researchers, and creative talent, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement. Empower teams to do their best work by embracing curiosity, resiliency, and optimism with a “what now, what next, what if” approach.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with product, development, and marketing teams to ensure consistent, seamless design solutions & experiences at scale across all platforms and client journey touchpoints.
  • Design Quality & Process: Establish, document, and activate design standards, best practice playbooks, and workflows to improve efficiency and maintain design quality and consistency.
  • Business Value & Growth Enablement: Create intuitive, engaging, and aesthetically pleasing interfaces that optimize business outcomes (e.g. conversion rates, brand perception, etc.).
  • Thought Leadership: Advocates a strong point of view and compelling design position but is not rigidly fixed when presented with new information and perspectives – creating the right balance of giving stakeholders voice & visibility while also taking decisive action to drive forward progress.
  • Innovation & Creativity: Lead with curiosity and challenger mindset – questioning status quo, finding new/better ways to solve problems, seeking inspiration and delivering inspiration in the spirit of continuous improvement.
  • Data & Insights-Driven Approach: Oversee user research, usability testing, and data analysis to turn insights into tangible enhancements for digital products and marketing campaigns. Synthesize data and information across multitude of sources and stakeholders to inform work and optimize outcomes.
