The SRPS Implementation Team, within Workplace Financial Services (WFS), is committed to providing a seamless transition of retirement plan participant records and assets to Schwab for both new business conversions, plan mergers, and other related activities due to corporate acquisitions. We have assembled a team of some of the most experienced and qualified people in the industry. Also, we provide dedicated operational support to our existing clients to assist with plan provision changes, new features adoption, and transitions to outside recordkeepers.  Our goal is to lead the industry in plan conversions, and ongoing plan maintenance, through a proven process that focuses on quality, timeliness and the best overall experience for our clients and their employees.

What you’ll do:

In this role you will perform oversight, planning, and execution of tasks related to existing client conversions, acquisitions/mergers, and ongoing plan maintenance. You will communicate with and manage all internal and external stakeholders on the implementation or maintenance to existing plans; including prior record keepers and successor record keepers, internal Schwab teams, plan sponsors, Trustees/Custodians, and advisors (if needed).

Day to day responsibilities include oversight and execution of the following:

  • Documenting all milestones of the plan related activity that we are being tasked with
  • Coordinate and manage related activities of clients and internal and external business partners
  • Preparing the necessary documentation which include wire/asset transfer responsibilities as needed
  • Setting up and reviewing plan setup on our core recordkeeping system (SRI) and RPM using plan documents
  • Communicating with Charles Schwab Trust Bank on asset activity and reconciliation support
  • Reconciling plan assets to participant recordkeeping balances and trust statements
  • Analyzing and loading data along with reviewing various census and administrative reports to ensure accuracy
  • Utilize a strong understanding of retirement plans to perform ongoing maintenance to the recordkeeping system to ensure alignment with plan documents
  • Based on business need, may assume Team Lead responsibilities as needed.

What you have


Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • 5 + years’ experience in the financial services and/or record keeping industry with concentration in Defined Contribution Plan Services (is a plus)

Preferred qualifications

  • Strong Excel skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong customer focus, including ability to think in terms of the customers perspective and expectation
  • QKA designation, preferred but not required
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, problem solving, organizational, decision-making and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to multi-task among competing priorities
  • Proficiency in plan recordkeeping software within 6 months of hire
  • Ability to motivate/inspire others to achieve team goals and client satisfaction
  • Willingness to take the initiative when faced with a new or challenging situation
  • Ability and willingness to take on a leadership role in this position including demonstrating a willingness to support new ideas.
  • Proficiency in plan administration and ERISA
