Business Unit (BU) Risk provides first line risk management support to the four business units in Workplace Services (WS): Retirement Plan Services, Retirement Business Services, Stock Plan Services, and Designated Brokerage Services.

The BU Risk Senior Manager will be responsible for implementation of initiatives related to both existing and emerging risks. This role will also help identify areas for process improvement to limit risk to the firm and improve client experience. This role will require excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong analytical skills, and the ability to build strong relationships with numerous business partners across the entire organization. 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Acting as the Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) and Issue Management Facilitator, which includes working with senior leaders and partners across the business to manage RCSA changes and issue creation/closure. Requires balancing numerous competing priorities, working directly with leaders at all levels, and providing consultation to ensure risks and controls are accurately captured and control activity is being performed to mitigate risk.
  • Leading the partnership with Risk and Control Assurance Testing (RCAT) to serve as the primary point of contact for testing engagements. Responsible for partnering with WS senior leadership, business contacts, and RCAT to streamline the testing engagement and maximize collaboration across teams.
  • Overseeing escalations, including Risk Events, from the business and assessing BU Risk response.
  • Coordinating efforts with key business partners in the management of WS BU Risk initiatives.
  • Providing project updates and status to key stakeholders at the appropriate level of detail to enable action to be taken on issues.
  • Providing consultation, facilitation, and analytical support to ensure internal controls are properly implemented to provide flawless participant and client service and compliance with regulatory obligations.
  • Collaborating with executives and management to create, sustain, and strengthen the internal control framework through risk identification and control design and implementation.

Required qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in risk management or similar roles.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively, with minimum guidance.
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously while prioritizing based on risk/business needs.
  • Experience performing audits, risk assessments, and reviewing and developing key processes and controls.
  • Experience presenting and communicating to Executive Management.
  • Ability to effectively work and collaborate with technical and non-technical resources.
  • Excellent time management and related organizational skills, including appropriate sense of urgency, a proactive approach, and a suitable ability to anticipate and manage project lifecycle events, issues, and obstacles.
  • Solid business acumen, attention to detail, flexibility, and judgment to evaluate issues/problems of high complexity and make sound decisions.

Preferred qualifications: 

  • RCSA experience.
