Employee Resource Group Spotlight: Black Professionals at Charles Schwab.

At Schwab, we believe that when employees feel supported, they thrive. That’s why our Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) create opportunities for connection, professional growth, and community impact. One of these groups, Black Professionals at Charles Schwab (BPACS), is dedicated to supporting Black employees and their allies through career development, financial education, and outreach initiatives.

A Mission to Support
BPACS is focused on celebrating achievements, sharing knowledge, and creating opportunities that make a lasting impact. The group fosters a sense of community while providing tools and resources to help members grow in their careers, support one another, and contribute to broader efforts across the Black community.
To drive these efforts forward, BPACS prioritizes:
- Creating opportunities for leadership and career development
- Building partnerships that promote financial literacy and economic growth
- Hosting discussions and events that bring people together to learn, connect, and progress
Making an Impact Through Connection, Education, and Celebration
BPACS supports both its members and the broader community through a variety of initiatives:
Connection
• Promoting career growth through networking, mentorship, and leadership development
• Partnering with organizations to expand access to financial literacy resources
• Strengthening relationships with universities and professional organizations to attract top talent
Education
• Offering workshops and events focused on career development and financial well-being
• Hosting discussions on topics that matter to members and allies
• Providing resources to support professional and personal growth
Celebration
• Recognizing achievements and milestones within the BPACS community
• Hosting events for Black History Month, Juneteenth, and other important observances
• Encouraging engagement through social and cultural activities
Connecting and Giving Back
In addition to the community and member focused efforts listed above, BPACS also provides members and allies with frequent events, volunteering opportunities, and mental/physical health resources.
Open to all employees , BPACS hosts an array of events designed to educate and support all attendees. These events can range from historical education to group karaoke nights, guest speakers, virtual tours, hiring events, and knowledge-sharing seminars concerning Black community members’ history, health, and wealth.
For community outreach, BPACS organizes volunteering opportunities and conducts the yearly “BPACS Gives!” community initiative. Involvement in these initiatives is open to all members, allies, and Schwab employees across the firm.

Through advocacy, education, and community engagement, the group supports members and allies to drive positive change.
