Your opportunity

At Schwab, you’re empowered to make an impact on your career. Here, innovative thought meets creative problem solving, helping us “challenge the status quo” and transform the finance industry together.

Schwab Investment Platforms, Solutions, and Strategy (SIPSS) brings together Schwab’s investment platforms, product solutions, and product strategy teams to set strategic direction and drive investment across Schwab’s managed accounts, third-party platforms, digital advice, and emerging capabilities. SIPSS partners across the firm to deliver a modern, scalable, and competitive investment product ecosystem for Schwab clients.

Within SIPSS, the Senior Manager of Business Strategy will be a part of the Investment Offers & Solutions (IOS) group’s cross-platform strategic initiatives team. IOS is responsible for managing our proprietary separately managed account offers as well as third-party product marketplaces, including mutual funds, ETFs, alternative investments, managed accounts, structured products, fixed income, annuities, insurance, and 529s. Our mission is to provide a positive experience for Schwab clients that invest in these products, while growing a key revenue stream for Schwab.

The Senior Manager, Business Strategy (Individual Contributor) is a senior-level role within Managed Accounts Solutions (MAS) responsible for leading high-impact strategic initiatives and shaping the evolution of Schwab’s third-party and proprietary Managed Accounts platforms. This role blends business strategy leadership with deep product and platform subject-matter expertise, operating at the intersection of client needs, market dynamics, platform capabilities, and business economics. The role owns end-to-end strategy development and execution for complex managed account initiatives, including multi-year roadmaps, platform and offer enhancements, pricing and business model evolution, and responses to changing industry trends. While this role does not include direct people management, it carries Senior Manager–level scope, autonomy, and accountability, requiring strong leadership by influence across Product, Legal, Compliance, Operations, Advisor Services, and Investor Services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Independently lead the development and execution of multi-year strategic roadmaps supporting Managed Accounts offers.
  • Act as a deep subject-matter expert on Managed Accounts platforms and offers, informing prioritization, tradeoff decisions, and investment recommendations.
  • Conduct market, competitive, and financial analysis to identify growth opportunities and support strategic decision-making.
  • Lead critical initiatives such as platform enhancements, pricing strategies, business model evolution, and risk-related projects from concept through implementation.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Product, Legal, Compliance, Operations, Advisor Services, and Investor Services to translate strategy into executable solutions.
  • Support business oversight, risk management, and the definition of objectives and measurable results to ensure successful outcomes.

What you have

  • 5+ years of full-time professional experience, including 3+ years in financial services with experience in business strategy, product/offer management, or consulting.
  • Demonstrated financial services acumen; understanding of wealth management market and investment products (e.g., mutual funds, ETFs, separately managed accounts)
  • Demonstrated experience developing business cases and leading complex, cross-functional strategic initiatives.
  • Develop compelling presentations to support the strategy process, deliver recommendations, and influence audiences at various levels across Schwab, including leadership in WAS and partner organizations
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize data into clear insights and recommendations.
  • Experience assessing tradeoffs and prioritizing initiatives in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
  • Strong collaboration and relationship-building skills, with a track record of leading through influence rather than authority.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or equivalent post-graduate experience preferred.
