The Cloud Engineerwill have the opportunity to help shape the nextgeneration Cloudsolutions for Charles Schwab & Co. The ideal candidate will have experience in large scalecloud servicedesign to protect virtualized workloadsacross a variety of technology and service domains. This will be hands-ondesign,engineering and support of Schwab's architectures applied to our initiatives. This role is for someone who sees themselves as acloudpractitioner withtechnology domainexpertise.

What you have

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum 5years’ experience working within Enterprise IT.

• Minimum of 2 years’ highly technical experience with cloud design in Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Provider (GCP).

• 2+ years’ experience with infrastructure as code tools including Terraform.

• 2+ years’ experience with scripting tools (Python, JavaScript, Bash, PowerShell, etc.).

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cyber Security, related degree OR related practical experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Design experience in secure cloud infrastructure with minimal blast radius, change risk, and streamlined migration paths, while enforcing strict least privilege access and baseline configuration standards.

• Coding proficiency with Terraform, Ansible, Salt or similar automation tools as all provisioning includes Infrastructure as Code (IaC).

• Experience with Cloud Security products and following secure design principles.

• Experience defining and implementing controls based on NIST and CIS standards.

• Experience building and managing infrastructure through GitOps workflows and Infrastructure as Code, enabling consistent, auditable cloud environments and rapid reliable deployments OR related constructs in either AWS, Azure, or GCP.

• Working proficiency with SCM and DevOps tool suites; examples include Git, Bitbucket, Github, Bamboo, Github Actions, Jenkins, Concourse etc.

• Experience in the development of policy and operational processes to ensure high availability and service of entire technology stack.

• Experience working with development and security architects to determine project requirements, specifications, and technical solutions.

• Experience with supporting mission critical, 24x7 systems.

• Working knowledge of Agile/Scrum, experience adopting or leading continuous integration and continuous delivery concepts and frameworks.

• Google Professional, AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Solution Architect or similar Cloud Provider Certification is a plus.

• Experience in the Financial Services industry is a plus.
