The Operational Services organization at Schwab partners with teams across the firm to deliver on service promises to Schwab clients. We are responsible for protecting and safeguarding the assets of the firm and our clients while continuing to increase scalability and efficiency.

The Operations Transformation Office (OTO) is responsible for transforming Operational Services into a highly scalable organization, while creating a culture of excellence in how we create shared value for clients, manage risk, cultivate talent, and collaborate with partners across the firm. Within the OTO our Business Technology team  creates PowerPlatform solutions  to provide scalability and improve the experience for the Operations employees processing work.

As a Business Led Development developer, you create applications by working directly with the operations employees and learning their processes. You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of software development: gathering business requirements, developing the application, writing unit tests, and coordinating testing and deployment. Our applications range from simple SharePoint Canvas apps to complex Dataverse solutions.  We interact with many different teams and a variety of projects in order to keep the core business operations functions running as smoothly and efficiently as possible.

What you’ll do:

Developing and deploying solutions inclusive of unit, regression and functional test plans

  • Participating and assisting in application architecture functions
  • Working independently or with a team on low, moderate and highly complex programming tasks
  • Developing and testing internal web applications, including UI design
  • Supporting existing applications in PowerPlatform, Javascript and C#
  • Analyzing software problems utilizing debugging tools/methods and code fixes
  • Performing Peer Code Reviews and helping to communicate coding standards
  • Assisting in mentoring Jr level associates in programming practices and design
  • Optimizing applications for memory and processing requirements

Business Solution Development

  • Using business knowledge to coordinate various solutions/improvements to enhance operational scalability
  • Leading discussions with the business during analysis and problem solving sessions
  • Analyzing business processes and providing technical solutions
  • Communicating technical aspects of business processes
  • Assisting with measuring impact of application and prioritizing future deliverables and dependencies
  • Relating technical terms and concepts to non-technical business users
  • Partnering with internal business units to write user stories, success criteria, and JIRA tickets
  • Scoping projects for effort and risk. Helping to define tasks for each deliverable
  • Establishes appropriate expectations for development to be completed while using an Agile approach, demoing projects regularly and responding to feedback

Power Apps, PowerAutomate, Dataverse, and  Data Management

  • Model entities, relationships, and security roles in Microsoft Dataverse to underpin apps and flows
  • Develop data validation rules and  business process flows
  • Lead full lifecycle Model Driven Apps, Canvas Power Apps development, requirements gathering, prototyping, build, testing, and deployment
  • Design reusable component libraries and implement robust business logic using formulas and component frameworks
  • Optimize app performance, accessibility, and mobile responsiveness Power Automate Cloud Flows and Desktop Flow Automation
  • Architect and build advanced Power Automate flows to automate approvals, notifications, and data orchestration
  • Implement error handling, logging, and retry policies for mission-critical workflows
  • Integrate flows with Dataverse, SharePoint, Teams, Dynamics 365, and third-party APIs
  • Implement PowerAutomate Desktop flows for RPA solutions

Governance & Best Practices

  • Help build best practices and documentation to improve scalability and delivery time
  • Enforce naming conventions, version control, and release pipelines using Azure DevOps or Git
  • Recommend and implement best practices to improve maintainability, security, and user adoption

What you have


Required Qualifications

  • Five (5) + years of hands-on experience in MS Dataverse and Model Driven apps
  • Five (5) + years of experience in designing and building Power Automate flows, including approvals and error handling
  • Two (2) + years of experience in developing Canvas Apps for integration with Power Platform
  • Two (2) + years of experience with Java Script
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. indefinitely without sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications

  • Microsoft Certified in PL-100, PL-200 and PL-400
  • One (1) year of direct VA/VHA project experience within a Government Community Cloud (GCC)
  • Experience building component libraries and custom connectors
  • Familiarity with  PowerBI
