The successful candidate will be one who has the experience with creating user information solutions by developing, implementing and maintaining SQL based solutions.  They are expected to write well designed, testable, efficient code and ensure solutions are following specifications.  Will prepare and produce releases of software components.  Will support continuous improvements by investigating alternatives and technologies and presenting these for architectural review.  Supports users by developing documentation and assistance tools.  Completes applications development by coordinating requirements, schedules and activities; contributing to team meetings; troubleshooting development and production problems across multiple environments and operating platforms. 
Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Effectively navigates organization structure, culture and politics to negotiate win-win outcomes for the company. Follows processes and operational policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Acts as advisor to peers and juniors to meet schedules and/or resolve technical problems. Able to solution Experience with test-driven development or behavior driven development a bonus.

What you are good at

    • Lead the technical design, development and implementation of cross-functional, multi-platform application systems
    • Lead and coach multiple scrum teams in Database Development activities utilizing PL1 and/or T-SQL. Leading by both example and direction
    • Ensure standards are being met by teams with respect to code quality, unit test cases, and best coding practices for all code implementations
    • Perform code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members
    • Lead development on Proof-of-Concept projects to help create reusable patterns for development
    • Participate in various agile ceremonies and appropriately lead technology solutioning across a large team space

    Basic Qualifications:

    • 10+ years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD, or PhD) in the Computer Science field.
    • 4+ years’ experience with developing Oracle and MS SQL databases

What you have

  • Experience coaching junior, staff level, and senior developers.
  • Strong expertise in system design
  • Strong ability to take proposed architecture and/or leadership goals and translate them into detailed technical design documents to be consumed by the engineering teams
  • experience in the full SDLC including delivery
  • Experience with writing SQL and the ability to identify and suggest performance enhancements
  • Demonstrated the ability to provide technology directions, and best practices for Oracle and/or SQL Server architecture and database technologies.
  • Strong ability to Design for functional and non-functional qualities, including availability, resiliency, security, performance, and privacy Extensive
  • 3-5 years’ experience with Atlassian tool suites Bitbucket, Bamboo, JIRA, Confluence
  • Experience using IDE and GIT repositories for code management
  • Understanding of waterfall, Agile and Scaled Agile (SAFe) methodologies
  • Strong analytical, communication and problem resolution skills

Target Total Compensation in New York City:  $132,000 - $264,000
